This year Coops & Nieborg has developed, engineered and build a Pipe Handling System. This system is developed in close cooperation with the customer and is already in full operation and performing above expectation.

The system is in basic a high tech overhead travelling crane with rack and pinion drive and a rigid passive frame with an adjustable spreader beam capable to work in sea state four conditions.
The system is designed to load and unload pipes and can handle pipes in various dimensions for offshore pipe laying projects. Two of these systems in one ship ensure a handling time of one pipe every three minutes with a 100% redundancy.
